Habitat And Niche
Habitat
This is a pond where amny animals may live. http://www.burkesbackyard.com.au/img/archive/3090/frog%20pond%202.jpg
The picture to the left shows a habitat made for frogs and possibly fish. This habitat and others like it are where some frogs and fish were born. That makes it its natural home which is what a habitat is.
Niche
Drawing of a penguin catching a fish and others on the ice. http://static.ddmcdn.com/gif/willow/penguin-info1.gif
This is a nich for a penguin. They have an abundance amount of fish in the water for them to eat. They also have others to mate with to keep their population going. This is a place where they get what they need and that is where they need to live.
The difference between a habitat and a niche
Although a habitat and a niche seem the same, they aren't. A habitat is where that organism is born and possibly raised. That does not mean that is where is should live or that is is where it will be able to survive. A niche is the place where it is best for that organism to able to survive and carry on their population.
