Like the diagram to the side shows, an ecosystem includes the living and non-living things in a specific area. The diagram shows many different species like fish, ducks, frogs, and different types of birds. Those are all living things along with the grass that is in the picture also. An ecosystem also includes the non-living things such as water, temperature, sunlight, and soil.

A community includes many different populations living together that are all living. The picture to the above has some of the same animala like elephants along with other populations like zevras and rhinos. since a community does not include the abiotic factors, you do not include the water, sunlight or temperature.
